Aerides odorata is an epiphytic orchid native to Southeast Asia, renowned for its pleasant fragrance and its delicate flowers, usually white with a pink or purple centre, carried on long pendent sprays. Its thick, fleshy leaves are typical of orchids adapted to places where water can be irregular. For all its beauty, it is a robust species.
Large and mounted on cork, it asks for a little experience. It wants bright light, warm conditions, high humidity and watering spaced out, letting the mix dry in between. Blooming in summer. It lends itself to terrarium culture.
