Belonging to the vast genus Bulbophyllum, this orchid (syn. Bulbophyllum electrinum) is distinguished by small pseudobulbs bearing narrow, leathery leaves. Its flowers, singular in design, evoke the silhouette of a bird in full flight — hence the name “hirundinis”. A discreet but captivating bloom, mysterious and exotic in charm.
Miniature and mounted on cork, it asks for a little experience. It wants medium light, warm conditions, high humidity and a mix kept evenly moist. Blooming in autumn. It lends itself to terrarium culture.
