The Crassula ovata, or jade plant, is a succulent native to South Africa. Its fleshy, oval, green leaves, often edged in red, store water. It produces small white or pink star-shaped flowers in winter. Easy to care for, it symbolizes prosperity and prefers bright light.
It enjoys bright light, warm conditions, low humidity and watering spaced out, letting the mix dry in between. Standard-sized, it is grown potted and suits beginners. It blooms in winter.
