Encyclia guatemalensis is a Central American orchid carrying long branching spikes of star-shaped green-yellow flowers with a pale lip streaked in purple. A robust, free-flowering species of elegant bearing.

Miniature, it suits beginners. It wants bright light, intermediate conditions, medium humidity and watering spaced out, letting the mix dry in between. Its flowers are fragrant.
