Masdevallia harlequina is a Peruvian species with a mosaic-patterned bloom: over an orange ground, the flower is peppered with purple-brown spots that gather into a broad dark zone, then draws out into three long thread-like yellow tails. That checkered pattern is what earned it the harlequin name. The clone ‘Ecuagenera’ is a selection from the Ecuadorian nursery of the same name.
