Masdevallia tovarensis is a botanical species from the cloud forests of Venezuela, prized for its crystalline pure white flowers, borne two to four to a stem in the depths of winter. Each bloom forms a clean triangle with three short points, held well above the foliage. Its distinctive trait: the same spike reblooms from one season to the next, so it should never be cut after flowering.
