Masdevallia tovarensis is a botanical species from the cloud forests of Venezuela, prized for its crystalline pure white flowers, borne two to four to a stem in the depths of winter. Each bloom forms a clean triangle with three short points, held well above the foliage. Its distinctive trait: the same spike reblooms from one season to the next, so it should never be cut after flowering.
Medium light, cool conditions, high humidity, mix kept evenly moist. Compact, it is grown potted and asks for a little experience. It flowers in winter.
