The Vanda miniata orchid (Ascocentrum miniatum) is prized for its flowers of a brilliant orange with reddish shades, which bring an exotic and vibrant touch. Native to the tropical forests of Southeast Asia, this epiphytic orchid grows clinging to trees thanks to its thick aerial roots. Its compact size makes it ideal for growers with little space.
It enjoys bright light, warm conditions, high humidity and watering spaced out, letting the mix dry in between. Miniature, it is grown mounted on cork and asks for a little experience. It blooms in spring. It lends itself to terrarium culture.
